Mike Elko was officially introduced as Texas A&M’s new head coach Monday afternoon by AD Ross Bjork and University President Mark A. Welsh.

Elko, who served as the Aggies’ DC from 2018-2021, served as Duke’s head coach in 2022 and 2023, winning 16 total games across 2 seasons. He’ll take over for former HC Jimbo Fisher.

Here’s the moment Elko was introduced Monday:

Elko started his press conference by giving Aggies fans a “Howdy!” and letting them know how excited he is to be back in College Station. He then went into specifics about his vision for Texas A&M.

Elko wants the Aggies to adapt to the modern ways of college football and is looking to instill a “blue-collar mentality.”

He ended by insisting that the Aggies will make fans “extremely proud” on Saturdays very soon. More than anything, he’s ready to get to work.
