Mike Elko met with reporters on Saturday afternoon following Texas A&M’s dominant win over Missouri.

He covered a lot of ground in the presser, but there was one especially-interesting off-the-field topic he discussed: a Texas A&M package that showed up in Theo Wease’s College Station hotel room earlier this week.

Wease shared a photo of what he received — a Texas A&M blanket and a note that claimed to be from Aggies cornerback Will “the Blanket” Lee.

In his postgame press conference, Elko indicated that the blanket and note didn’t come from anyone at Texas A&M. Instead, he seemed to claim that the blanket and note were placed there by Missouri in an attempt to motivate Wease before this top-25 showdown.

“My suggestion would be, you guys should go ask Eli where that came from, because I have a strong feeling that came from the other side,” Elko said.

In any case, Wease took the message seriously. He wore the A&M blanket during the early part of warm-ups at Kyle Field on Saturday morning:

Wease did score a long touchdown in this game, but was otherwise limited by A&M’s stout secondary. He finished the day with 2 catches for 72 yards and 1 touchdown.
