Mike Matthews, elite 5-star WR and SEC target, sets finalists and commitment date

Mike Matthews is a 5-star wide receiver and one of the best players in the country for the 2024 recruiting class. He’s nearing his decision and announced his group of finalists and a commitment date on Monday.
Matthews dropped a list of 4 finalists that included Georgia and Tennessee out of the SEC, Clemson in the ACC, and USC which is heading to the Big Ten in 2024. He will make his decision on Wednesday.

Matthews is listed at 6-foot-2 and 180 pounds out of Parkview High School in Lilburn, Georgia and is rated as a 5-star recruit by the 247 Sports Composite. The system also rates Matthews as the No. 4 WR, the 13th overall player in the country and the No. 3 player out of Georgia for the class of 2024.
While Matthews has a group of 4 finalists, he did receive a 247 Sports Crystal Ball prediction over the weekend for a commitment to Tennessee. That prediction came from Steve Wiltfong, the Director of Football Recruiting for 247 Sports.
