Mike Singletary named head coach of Memphis Alliance of American Football team
The Alliance of American Football league has just announced a new coach as former NFL head coach Mike Singletary has been named the coach of the Memphis franchise.
If you are unfamiliar with the Alliance of American Football league, it is a new professional spring football league that plans to begin play immediately after the upcoming Super Bowl. Steve Spurrier is coaching the Orlando franchise, while former NFL head coach Brad Childress is coaching the Atlanta team. The offensive coordinator for the Atlanta franchise is Michael Vick.
Rosters for the teams have yet to be named but it has been speculated that the roster will be regionally based, giving fans plenty of familiar faces to root for when the league begins play.
Those three cities are the only three that have been named at this time. Eight teams in total will be named prior to the start of the inaugural season in 2019.
