Mike White got a big monkey off his back on Sunday as Florida knocked off Florida State for the first time since 2013 as the Gators got balanced scoring in the 71-55 victory.
Colin Castleton paced the Gators with his first career double-double of 15 points and 16 rebounds in the win. The unranked Gators improved to 2-0, and gave No. 20 FSU its first loss of the season, to drop the Seminoles to 1-1. Both teams shot 38 percent from the field, but Florida was 15-for-20 from the foul line, and FSU just 8-for-15.
Along with Castleton, Anthony Duruji (15), Myreon Jones (12) and Brandon McKissic (12) also reached double figures.
The Gators also had 44 rebounds, and had a 19-point lead at one point.
The Gators return to action on Thursday against Milwaukee.
