South Carolina’s receiver depth may soon be taking a hit as redshirt freshman Mike Wyman has made the decision to enter the NCAA transfer portal.

Wyman signed with the Gamecocks in the 2020 recruiting cycle and was rated as a four-star prospect and a top 350 prospect nationally in his recruiting cycle.

News of Wyman’s decision to enter the transfer portal was first reported by Matt Zenitz of On 3 Sports.

During his lone season in Columbia, Wyman did not make any appearances for the Gamecocks. As always, it should be noted that players can return to the team after entering the transfer portal. Doing so simply allows other programs to contact the player regarding a potential transfer.

Wyman’s bio on the South Carolina team site:

Wide receiver who begins his second spring with the squad… one of several candidates in line for playing time this fall.

2020 (Freshman)
Enrolled at South Carolina in January and went through the abbreviated spring drills… did not see any game action… redshirted.
