For the first time in school history, the Mississippi State Bulldogs sit atop the college football polls, ranking No. 1 in both the coaches and AP polls. As if they needed any more exposure after beating Auburn on the weekend’s biggest stage, a group of students in New York celebrated the team’s lofty perch on the Today Show.
According to a story from WBLT (Jackson, Miss.), a group of interior design students are in New York visiting museums around the city. Over the weekend, they decided that if Mississippi State topped Auburn, they’d go to the set of NBC’s Today Show with signs and cowbells. Once there, they got the attention of host Matt Lauer, who came out to ring the students’ cowbells. The show tweeted out a photo of the group alongside co-anchor Natalie Morales.

The students got to the set at 5:15 a.m. on Monday, working their way to the front row with signs reading “#HA1LSTATE” and “#DAK4HE15MAN.”
Now, not only do college football fans know what “Clanga” is all about, the non-football population got a taste of it.
