Mississippi State basketball reported NCAA violations stemming from SEC road game, per report

Mississippi State basketball had a bounceback season under Chris Jans a season ago, going 21-13 and advancing to the program’s first NCAA Tournament appearance since the 2018-19 season.
Unfortunately, the Bulldogs reportedly incurred NCAA violations during a February road trip against Arkansas. Stefan Krajisnik with The Clarion Ledger reports Mississippi State self-reported those violations to the NCAA.
According to Krajisnik’s report, the Bulldogs had a pair of NCAA violations from the game at Arkansas that resulted in a 70-64 win for Mississippi State. Those violations are labeled Level III which would put them among the least-serious violations.
One of the violations came as a result of a member of the Bulldog staff providing tickets for a high school coach and family members. The other reportedly came from an assistant providing tickets to an individual associated with prospects.
Hopefully self-reporting the violations puts the matter behind the Bulldogs moving forward.
