Unfortunately, due to 2020 being 2020, this year’s Thanksgiving does not include the Egg Bowl. We did, at least, get Mississippi State’s hype video for the annual in-state rivalry clash.

The Bulldogs official Twitter account shared the clip from Hail State Productions:

As one would expect, the video features highlights from past battles for the Golden Egg, including 2019’s wild finish in Starkville, a 21-20 MSU victory. A few highlights from this season, Year 1 under coach Mike Leach, are also sprinkled in the clip.

MSU has had an up-and-down 2020 season. The Leach era started off with a bang, a 44-34 win in Week 1 over defending national champion LSU at Tiger Stadium in Baton Rouge. Mississippi State dropped its next four games to Arkansas, Kentucky, Texas A&M and Alabama, though, before finally snapping the losing skid with a win over Vanderbilt. The Bulldogs are 2-5 after falling 31-24 at Georgia in Week 9.

If there’s one guaranteed way to salvage a season, it’s with a win over your in-state rival. Saturday’s game is set for the 3 p.m. CT slot on the SEC Network. MSU is a 9.5-point underdog according to the Vegas Insider Consensus, down from the 12-point opening spread.
