Last month, the Mississippi State Bulldogs lost head strength and conditioning coach Anthony Piroli to the NFL, as he joined Bruce Arians’ staff with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Now, it appears coach Joe Moorhead has found a replacement, choosing to promote from within his current strength staff.
Per reports on Wednesday, later confirmed by the school, Cory Bichey has been promoted to the head strength and conditioning coach position:
Cory Bichey has been promoted to head strength and conditioning coach at Mississippi State. He was on staff under Anthony Piroli last season after spending five seasons at Arkansas.

Bichey spent five seasons at Arkansas before coming to Starkville as part of Piroli’s staff in 2018. Now, he’ll lead the Bulldogs’ strength program.
Piroli set up the Bulldogs for success last year, and now Bichey will try to keep that momentum going.
