When Mississippi State K Westin Graves missed a kick last week against Alabama, coach Dan Mullen quoted “Risky Business” to try to keep the junior loose on the sidelines.

However, Graves didn’t understand the famous quote from the movie, “Sometimes, you’ve just got to say, ‘what the [expletive].'”

According to The Clarion-Ledger, Graves said he missed the reference Mullen was going for:

“I didn’t have a clue what he was talking about,” Graves said. “I don’t really watch movies. Then once after the game, I think he said something about it.”

Still, Graves added that he appreciated Mullen’s effort to cheer him up:

“He knows that I can kick it. He has faith in me,” Graves said “I think kind of the comedy thing, instead of me going over there and thinking about it, it lightens the mood.”

If Graves misses another kick this weekend, Mullen will have to try another motivational tactic.
