Mississippi State added a talented athlete to its 2024 recruiting class on Wednesday afternoon.
The Bulldogs picked up a commitment from Xavier Gayten, who is a Mississippi native.

Gayten is listed as an athlete as he plays quarterback for his high school team. However, he projects to be a running back at the next level.
He attends Brookhaven High School in Brookhaven, Mississippi. Gayten is listed at 6-foot, 190 pounds.
Gayten does not currently have a 247Sports Composite ranking. However, his recruitment has been taking off in recent weeks as he added offers from both Mississippi State and Ole Miss earlier this month.
Mississippi State now has 9 commitments in the class of 2024. Gayten is the 4th in-state recruit to pick Mississippi State so far this cycle. The group ranks No. 28 nationally, according to 247Sports Composite rankings.
