Mississippi State brought in Chris Jans from New Mexico State to replace Ben Howland this offseason, and Jans has a roster to reconstruct.

Already, the Bulldogs have managed to retain a few key players, including guys like Tolu Smith and Shakeel Moore.

On Thursday, Jans landed a commitment from a transferring point guard who spent the last 2 years at Albany. As you can see below, Jamel Horton revealed on Twitter that he was heading to Starkville for the 2022-23 season:

Horton started his career at Pratt Community College in Kansas before transferring to Albany for the 2020-21 season.

In 2021-22, he appeared in 30 games for the Great Danes, starting all of them. He averaged 12.8 points, 3.9 assists, 3.4 rebounds and 1.1 steals per contest.
