Mississippi State players learned of Zach Arnett firing on social media

Mississippi State players reportedly learned of Zach Arnett much like Texas A&M players the day before about their coach, and many fans — on social media.
Justin Frommer of 247Sports reported that angle, and added that the players didn’t expect anything to happen until after the Egg Bowl.
The players will now transition to the interim coach being MSU senior offensive analyst Greg Knox, who has 35 years of coaching experience including 28 years in the SEC. Knox is in his second stint at MSU and previously served as the Bulldogs’ interim head coach during the 2017 TaxSlayer Bowl, where he led the team to a 31-27 win over Louisville.
Knox at least knows what’s at stake since this is his 3rd time as an interim coach. Along with his previous MSU stint, he also was interim coach at Florida after Dan Mullen was fired. Knox went 1-1 as Florida’s interim.
A source told me that Mississippi State’s players found out about Zach Arnett’s firing over Twitter this morning like the majority of people. They weren’t expecting anything to happen until after the Egg Bowl.
Team already had a meeting this morning
