Mississippi State recruiting assistant arrested Saturday morning

Mississippi State recruiting assistant Rod Gibson was arrested early Saturday morning for driving under the influence, according to The Clarion-Ledger.

The arrest occurred on Highway 182 in Oktibbeha County at 1:27 a.m. Saturday according to the report.

Gibson, a former MSU running back (1998-99), joined the Bulldogs staff in February as a recruiting assistant.  He previously coached running backs at Copiah-Lincoln Community College.

The Bulldogs currently have 15 commits in their 2017 class, the most among SEC teams. The class is ranked No. 9 nationally and No. 4 in the SEC according to 247Sports Composite.
