Mississippi State has reportedly seen a surge in NIL contributions following the departure of the team’s former athletic director, John Cohen. He recently resigned to depart for Auburn, which also just so happens to be the opponent up next on the schedule for the Bulldogs.

According to Ross Dellenger of Sports Illustrated, the Mississippi State NIL collective has tripled its membership to 909 and has received $500,000 in new annual donations. And it only took about 72 hours for this great rise to occur.

It truly does just mean more in the SEC, and it’s truly amazing what a little bit of spite can do in a situation like this.

Cohen will not be on the sidelines when Auburn travels to Starkville this weekend, and clearly that seems to be for the (much) better.
