One of Mississippi State’s veteran defensive linemen is headed for the transfer portal. Redshirt junior Jevon Banks announced his decision on Twitter.

The 6-foot-2, 300-pound Mississippi native played in 10 games this season and amassed a career-best 6 tackles in the team’s 56-7 victory vs. ETSU on Nov. 19.

“First I would like to thank God for the opportunity. None of this would be possible for me! I would like to thank my family for always supporting me. Thanks to the entire Mississippi State coaching staff for the opportunity to play at the next level!” Banks said. “To the Bulldog fans, I am forever grateful for each and every one of you! The love shown will never be forgotten! With that being said, I have decided to enter my name into the transfer portal with 3 years of eligibility!”

In total, Banks appeared in 20 games for Mississippi State. Banks arrived at Mississippi State as a 3-star prospect and the No. 17 recruit in the state according to 247Sports.
