The Mississippi State Bulldogs face a huge game on Saturday night in Fayetteville, where they’ll take on the Arkansas Razorbacks.

Now, that task just got harder, as starting guard Nick Weatherspoon has been suspended for that game and possibly longer.

Per a release from Mississippi State, Weatherspoon was suspended indefinitely for a violation of team rules:

What the violation was and how long the suspension will last is unknown at this point, but that’s a big blow for the Bulldogs.

Weatherspoon is averaging 9.6 points and 2.8 rebounds this year and has started 23 games. With the Bulldogs sitting at 5-6 in SEC play, Saturday night’s game at Arkansas is huge for both teams. Without Weatherspoon, others will have to step up if the Bulldogs are going to get back to .500 in conference play.
