The Mississippi State Bulldogs have had an up-and-down 2016 season.
Following a baffling loss to South Alabama in Week 1, the Bulldogs have also lost at the last second to Kentucky. But, last weekend, the Bulldogs pulled off a massive upset against then-No. 4 Texas A&M.
With a 4-6 record and two games left to play, the Bulldogs are still hoping to overcome a rough start and qualify for a bowl game, coach Dan Mullen told The Clarion-Ledger:
“We’ve got our back to the wall. We’ve gotta win two games to get to a bowl game,” Mullen said. “That is what it is. We’ve been here before. We’ll come back and it really doesn’t have much to do with this game. It has to do with how we’re going to respond.”
The Bulldogs host Arkansas this weekend in a must-win game if they are to keep their seven-year bowl streak alive.
Then, Mississippi State closes with the Egg Bowl against Ole Miss in Oxford on Saturday, Nov. 26.
Check out this weekend’s game against the Razorbacks at 6 p.m. Central time on ESPNU.
