Missouri announces that Jontay Porter will miss the season after injury

The Missouri basketball team has suffered a massive loss before the 2018-19 season has tipped off.
The team announced Sunday that sophomore forward Jontay Porter suffered a season-ending knee injury during a closed scrimmage vs. Southern Illinois on Sunday. Porter tore his ACL and his MCL, which will sideline him for the whole season.
Losing a Porter to injury is all too familiar for Tigers hoops. Michael Porter Jr., the most well-known of the Porters, had his MU career limited to only three games after undergoing back surgery.
Prior to the injury, Jontay Porter was expected to be a high first-round NBA Draft pick. Porter recently represented Missouri at SEC Media Days. He was named to the SEC’s All-Freshman team last season after averaging 9.9 points and 6.8 rebounds per game.
