Homecoming: Missouri lands Oregon WR Alex Ofodile as graduate transfer

The Missouri Tigers added a little firepower to their offense Friday night.
PowerMizzou.com’s Gabe DeArmond was first to report the news that Oregon WR Alex Ofodile will be a graduate transfer to Missouri. Ofodile seemed to confirm the report on Twitter with a Tiger emoji.
The Ducks WR is originally from Rock Bridge High School in Columbia but left the state and headed to Eugene in the class of 2015.
“I think it’s just perfect timing,” he told PowerMizzou.com. “I felt like with Oregon going through so many changes coaching staff-wise over the years, I just kind of felt like I gave my all to them, but it’s kind of time to end my career coming back home.”
The 6-foot-3, 200-pound prospect was rated as a 4-star recruit and ranked as the nation’s No. 12 overall WR and the state’s No. 2 overall player in the class of 2015, according to 247Sports Composite Rankings.
In 2017, Ofodile played in five games and tallied 23 receiving yards off of three catches, and although he hasn’t put up huge numbers, he’ll be a nice addition and a big target for QB Drew Lock.
Alex’s father, AJ Ofodile, coaches the WRs on Missouri’s staff. He’s planning to graduate in June and then join the Tigers’ program.
