Missouri’s defense made history against Kentucky… and not in a good way

When the Missouri Tigers hired defensive coordinator Barry Odom to take over for Gary Pinkel entering the 2016 season, it was expected that the defense would continue to be a bright spot.

Eight games into the 2016 season, that couldn’t be further from the truth.

In what will likely be a blowout loss to Kentucky, the Tigers reached a historic level of ineptitude, allowing 500+ yards of total offense for the fourth-straight game:

The precipitous drop in Mizzou’s defensive efficiency has to have those involved in the program worried.

A stout defense has been Mizzou’s calling card in recent years. Without that, the Tigers don’t have much to keep them competitive in a brutal conference like the SEC.
