Secret weapon Darius Rucker, the Palmetto State’s own Grammy-winning country soloist, caught a touchdown pass from Connor Mitch on the Gamecocks’ first possession in Saturday’s Garnet and Black spring game, showcasing supreme route-running skills.
He found an opening in the corner of the end zone behind Jon Hoke’s new-look defense:

Mitch completed his first five passes including a 52-yard gain to tight end Jerell Adams on the second play of the afternoon.
