Missouri needed some immediate help in the secondary.

On Thursday, that’s exactly what the Tigers got.

Former Oregon safety Khalil Oliver announced that he’ll be transferring to Mizzou as a graduate transfer:

That announcement came after the 6-1, 197-pound Idaho native visited Columbia earlier in the week. He’ll be eligible to play immediately after graduating from Oregon in 2018.

Oliver started in the first game of 2017 but injured his ankle and announced his plans to transfer in September. He hopes that the NCAA will grant him a medical hardship waiver, which would give him 2 years of eligibility remaining.

He’ll look to boost a unit that struggled against the pass in 2017. Missouri ranked No. 106 in FBS against the pass last year.

In 23 career games, Oliver made 73 tackles. The Tigers could be without both starting safeties if Kaleb Prewett, who is suspended for violating undisclosed team rules, doesn’t return.
