Missouri’s football administration has been busy this year.
The Tigers have changed athletic directors, worked on plans to build a new football complex, approved the hire of a new defensive coordinator and added several games to the schedule.
The latest, announced Friday, is a 2017 date against Idaho, completing that year’s schedule. Mizzou also will host Missouri State, coached by former defensive coordinator Dave Steckel, and Purdue, while traveling to Connecticut. The ’17 cross-conference games are Arkansas (annual) and Auburn.
“Our thanks to the Idaho administration and staff, we’re very pleased to work together to get this game scheduled,” Missouri executive associate athletic director Bryan Maggard said in a release. “We appreciate their efforts and are glad to be able to close out the schedule for the 2017 season.”
Paul Petrino, Bobby Petrino’s brother, currently coaches Idaho. The team moved to the Sun Belt Conference in ’14 and is 2-21 under Petrino.
Missouri still has two openings in its 2016 schedule, but is set to face West Virginia and Eastern Michigan. The Tigers most recently added a game against BYU that will take place in Kansas City on Nov. 14, 2015.
