Mizzou announces death of pitching coach Brian DeLunas at age 46

Mizzou shared some awful news on Monday evening, revealing that pitching coach Brian DeLunas had died at the age of 46.
DeLunas, according to a release from the school, had been battling kidney disease for a while:
University of Missouri baseball pitching coach Brian DeLunas passed away on the evening of Jan. 16, 2022, after an extended battle with kidney disease. He was 46 years old.
“Words cannot describe how heartbroken we are in the loss of our friend, Brian DeLunas,” head coach Steve Bieser said. “In the months since his return to Mizzou, he has made an indelible impact on our team through his love of the game and his players along with his inspirational courage off the field. Brian was a tremendous husband, father, brother and coach, and our hearts go out to Johannah, Rory, Maren and the entire DeLunas family as we ask everyone to keep them in your thoughts and prayers.”
SEC commissioner Greg Sankey also shared his condolences to the Mizzou family:

DeLunas had spent the 2007-09 seasons with the Tigers. He was in his second stint in Columbia.
He had previously worked for the Seattle Mariners and the New York Mets in the Major League Baseball ranks. Rest in peace, Brian.
