Mizzou found itself in a dogfight with Vanderbilt, but the Tigers pulled away late for a 75-66 win over the Commodores in Columbia.

The Tigers led 68-63 with 2:11 remaining before Marques Warrick fouled Jason Edwards on a 3-point attempt. Edwards would make all 3 shots from the line to cut it to 68-66.

That would be the last points of the afternoon for Vandy as Mizzou took over thanks to a 7-0 run. The Commodores didn’t hit a field goal for the final 3:31 of the game, going 0-of-5 and 1 of their final 8 from the floor.

Mark Mitchell led all Mizzou scorers with 19 points on 6-of-11 shooting — including 7-of-9 from the line — while adding 7 rebounds. Josh Gray didn’t score but added a game-high 11 rebounds. Anthony Robinson added 15 points while Caleb Grill chipped in 13. Collectively, Mizzou shot nearly 50 percent from the field.

The Tigers won just 8 games in 2023-24, but they’ve far surpassed that total as they sit at 13-3 (2-1 SEC). They also have yet to lose a game at Mizzou Arena this season (12-0).

Next up for Mizzou is a trip to face Florida. Vandy, who falls to 13-3 (1-2 SEC), next hosts South Carolina.
