Mizzou wrestler J’den Cox, fresh off winning a bronze medal for the United States at the 2016 Rio Olympics, has publicly stated his desire to join the Tigers on the gridiron next season.
Missouri coach Barry Odom is open to the idea, but decided to have a little fun with his response when asked about his meeting with Cox:
Good line here. Barry Odom said he's open to letting J'den Cox join the football team next year, but … pic.twitter.com/QWQGN9yfN6

Cox, who earned the bronze medal in the 86-kilogram weight class, is certainly an imposing figure, so Odom is wise to see what he can do on the football field.
Who knows — with Mizzou’s history of producing great defensive linemen and Cox’s hand-fighting skills, the 6-foot, 197-pound wrestler could be a valuable edge rusher for the Tigers in 2017.
