First-year Mizzou coach Barry Odom joined Team USA wrestler J’den Cox, a Mizzou athlete and member of the 2016 Olympic team, to throw out the ceremonial first pitches at the St. Louis Cardinals game against the Miami Marlins on Friday night.

Odom and Cox were in attendance for Mizzou Night at Busch Stadium.

Odom took the mound prior to the start of the game to fire this first pitch:

As far as first pitches go, it’s hard to find too much fault with Odom’s effort. The motion was a little bit weird, but the high fastball wasn’t bad.

It’s no secret that the Cardinals’ bullpen has been struggling recently, so one Mizzou writer joked that St. Louis might need to keep Odom around:

The most important thing when throwing a first pitch is to not embarrass yourself. It’s safe to say Odom won’t catch too much heat for his effort on Friday.
