Back in June, 3-star 2022 LB Xavier Simmons, a native of Greensboro, North Carolina, announced his commitment to Virginia Tech.

Mizzou had offered the 6-3, 235-pound defender a scholarship in February of 2021, but it didn’t sway his initial commitment decision.

However, on Saturday, something changed, as Simmons took to Twitter to announce he was decommitting from Virginia Tech and pledging to Eli Drinkwitz and the Tigers:

Drinkwitz also took to Twitter to express his excitement toward landing Simmons:

Per the 247Sports composite rankings, Simmons is the No. 39 linebacker in the class of 2o22 and the No. 12 overall recruit from the state of North Carolina.

Missouri now has 13 players in its 2022 recruiting class. Prior to Simmons’ flip, the class ranked No. 23 in the nation and No. 7 in the SEC, per 247Sports.
