Nick Evers was once a four-star recruit in Oklahoma‘s 2022 class. He’ll now be facing the Sooners as a member of the Missouri Tigers.
Evers, on Tuesday, has committed to the Tigers from the transfer portal after a pair of seasons at UConn. He is the 16th incoming transfer of the cycle for Mizzou.
Rated the No. 9 quarterback in the 2022 recruiting class by 247Sports, Evers has had a bit of a winding road to Columbia. He initially committed to Florida in March 2021 before flipping his pledge to Oklahoma that December after the firing of Dan Mullen.
He spent one season with the Sooners before entering the transfer portal for the first time, ultimately landing at Wisconsin in 2023. Evers re-entered the portal a second time after the season and joined UConn, where he emerged as the starter in 2024 for Jim Mora. He threw for 918 yards, five touchdowns, and five interceptions in nine games that year while adding 245 yards and three touchdowns on the ground. In 2025, he played in just three games due to injury.
Evers’ third time in the portal will now see him in the SEC after all, where he’ll join a quarterback room that includes former Ole Miss signal caller Austin Simmons and sophomore Matt Zollers.
