Missouri won its Week 4 matchup against South Carolina 29-20 and is now recognizing the Players of the Game.

The offensive Players of the Game were swept by the running backs. Ahmad Hardy and Jamal Roberts took home the title this week. Roberts had 13 carries for 76 yards and a touchdown. This is Roberts’ second-highest rushing total in a game this season, behind his 143 rushing yards against Kansas. Hardy took 22 rushes for 138 yards and 1 score.

Hardy has been on a tear this season. Through 4 games, Hardy has 600 total yards, 6 touchdowns, and is averaging 7.6 yards per rush attempt. To put these numbers in perspective, Derrick Henry, through 4 games of his Heisman Trophy-winning season, had 422 yards, 8 touchdowns, and averaged 6.3 yards per carry. Hardy is ahead of Henry’s pace and is putting himself right in the middle of the Heisman conversation.

Defensive tackle Chris McClellan won the Defensive Player of the Game. McClellan had 2 total tackles and also 0.5 sacks in the game. He currently has 8 tackles on the season and 1 sack.

The special teams Player of the Game was kicker Robert Meyer. Meyer was 3-for-3 on field goals in the game, hitting 2 from 20-29 yards and 1 from 40-49 yards. Meyer is 6 for 7 on field goals this year and 15 for 17 on extra point attempts.

Up next, Mizzou takes a break from SEC play and hosts UMass.
