The Missouri Tigers picked up a massive win in week 2 when they knocked off their hated rivals, the Kansas Jayhawks, in comeback fashion during the renewal of the “Border War.”

One of the biggest factors in Mizzou securing the victory was their ability to impose their will in the trenches, and grad transfer offensive lineman Dominick Giudice in particular was outstanding for the Tigers in this regard. For his play leading the offensive line as Missouri gained 595 total yards and moved to 2-0 for a third consecutive season, Giudice has earned the Outland Trophy National Player of the Week honor.

The Missouri Tigers controlled the trenches against rival Kansas on Saturday, grinding out two 100-yard running backs and clearing space for a 300-yard passer in their 42-31 win at Faurot Field, the reward’s release notes. This award comes on the heels of Giudice also being named the SEC Co-Offensive Lineman of the Week on Monday for his dominant showing against the Jayhawks.

It’s clear that Mizzou has found a true game changer along their offensive in Giudice, and they’ll be looking for him to continue his dominant play up front as the season continues to roll along.
