It had been 14 seasons since Missouri and Kansas faced one another on the gridiron before they battled on Saturday afternoon. And when the dust settled, the Tigers were on top thanks to their quarterback’s sparkling performance.

Missouri QB Beau Pribula has been named the Maxwell Player of the Week following his dominant showing versus the Jayhawks. Pribula, a Penn State transfer, completed 76.9% (30/39) of his passes for 334 yards and 3 touchdowns in the Tigers’ 42-31 triumph.

Pribula was stuck behind top 2026 NFL Draft prospect Drew Allar in Happy Valley but has thrived early on in Columbia. The junior has completed an SEC-best 79.1% of his passes through two games. He didn’t fully flex his rushing ability versus the Jayhawks (9 carries for 6 yards), but picked up 65 yards and 2 touchdowns on the ground in his team debut against Central Arkansas.

Missouri snuck into this week’s AP poll (No. 25) with the Border War win. The Tigers host Louisiana (formerly UL-Lafayette) on Saturday before getting their first real test of the year in No. 11 South Carolina on Sept. 20. Kickoff for the Gamecocks matchup is still TBD, but the contest with the Ragin’ Cajuns will begin at 4:00 p.m. E.T. on ESPN+.
