First-year Mizzou coach Barry Odom knows what people are saying about the Tigers’ disappointing 2016 season.

However, he’s not giving up on his team just yet.

According to KansasCity.com, Odom said he feels the best is yet to come for this year’s Mizzou squad:

“I wish we had different results right now in our win-loss record, but … we’re going to keep on swinging and we’ll break through,” said Odom, who retook the reins of a struggling defense last week.

Sophomore QB Drew Lock said he hasn’t logged into social media since the season started so he doesn’t get discouraged by what people are saying about him:

“It’s definitely different than going back to your high school and talking to your best buddies about the game rather than hearing criticism about what’s going on,” Lock said. “You definitely have to push it out because those guys are drunk during the games or might not have even been at the game — better yet, in my shoes on the field.”

Mizzou will have a chance to win its third game of the season on Saturday at 3 p.m. Central time. The game can be seen on the SEC Network.
