Mizzou is on the hunt for a new offensive coordinator after Kirby Moore was named the head coach at Washington State.

Now, Eli Drinkwitz is apparently targeting an OC from the Big Ten.

Chip Lindsey, currently at Michigan, is reportedly “a leading candidate” for the position. That’s according to CBS Sports’ Matt Zenitz.

Lindsey has spent the past season as the Wolverines’ offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach. The Wolverines are currently ranked seventh in the Big Ten in total offense but are third in the conference and 15th in FBS in rushing (213.2 yards per game).

Prior to his time in Ann Arbor, Lindsey held the same roles at UCF and North Carolina. He was also the head coach at Troy for three seasons.

Eli Drinkwitz has said that he is looking for an experienced offensive coordinator, adding that few “first-time play-callers (have had) a lot of success” in the SEC.

Whoever Moore’s replacement ends up being, they’ll have the task of elevating the Tigers’ passing game. Mizzou was at the bottom of the SEC in passing offense. The quarterback room will look different in 2026, with Beau Pribula reportedly entering the transfer portal and Sam Horn weighing his options with a possible professional baseball career looming.

The Tigers will be in good shape when it comes to the ground game, though. Ahmad Hardy, one of the country’s top running backs, has re-signed with the program.
