MJ Sherman was a 4-star linebacker in the class of 2020, per the 247Sports composite rankings. He signed with Georgia out of high school.

In 3 years in Athens, the Washington DC native has amassed 13 tackles and 0.5 sacks while playing primarily as a backup.

But after Georgia’s recent national championship victory, Sherman entered the NCAA transfer portal. Now he has reportedly chosen a new school. Per On3 Sports, Sherman is heading to the Big Ten, committing to Matt Rhule and the Nebraska Cornhuskers:

Sherman drew interest from schools like Ohio State and Alabama coming out of high school, in addition to Georgia.

Nebraska is trying to turn over a new leaf after parting ways with coach Scott Frost during the 2022 season. Matt Rhule, the former Baylor and Carolina Panthers coach, is taking over the Cornhuskers’ program. We’ll see what sort of role the former Bulldog carves out for himself in Lincoln over the next couple of years.
