No. 10 Vanderbilt erupted for a key score late in the third quarter against visiting No. 15 Missouri. Vanderbilt running back MK Young turned on the jets for an 80-yard rushing touchdown that broke a 3-3 tie with 3:51 in the third quarter.

This is the senior’s first rushing touchdown since scoring against Utah State on Sept. 27.

The 5-foot-10, 195-pound Young has been explosive in the limited reps he’s received. Entering the game, the transfer out of New Mexico State was averaging an eye-popping 11.0 yards on 27 carries.

Young played his first 2 college seasons with New Mexico State, combining for 201 yards and 3 touchdowns. Young has already eclipsed that total in his first season at Vanderbilt. Young transferred to Vanderbilt on May 15, 2024.

The Texas native was rated as a 3-star prospect and the nation’s No. 177 running back coming out of high school, according to 247 Sports.

Vanderbilt is aiming for another winning streak after bouncing back from the loss at Alabama with a victory vs. LSU last weekend. This is the 3rd matchup of a 4-game stretch for Vanderbilt against currently ranked opponents. Next weekend, Vanderbilt will head to No. 22 Texas on Nov. 1.
