We took some time to look around and see if there were any places out there, any at all, that didn’t have Ole Miss left tackle Laremy Tunsil going No. 1.
Trust me, we looked far and wide. There were a couple out of the half-a-hundred mocks that had him going No. 2 or No. 3, but then we stumbled on Pro Football Focus, which had him going No. 11 to the Chicago Bears.
Granted, Steve Palazzolo did explain in his introduction, “As always, this mock is based around what I would do for each team — not necessarily the buzz and hype we are hearing around the NFL.”
Regardless, we did find it surprising that Tunsil was that far down. In the passage for Tunsil, Palazzolo says:
“While most mock drafts have Tunsil as a lock top-10 pick, a limited sample size in our grading, as well as my own personal de-valuing of the left tackle position have him dropping to No. 11.”
Still, according to PFF, Tunsil amazingly only allowed five pressures in 225 attempts. In his 28 career games, he was only responsible for two sacks allowed. That seems to at least be a decent sample size.
In the end, who really knows, right? However, we’d be willing to bet Tunsil will be playing with the Tennessee Titans next season, protecting Marcus Mariota’s blind side.
