Go inside the minds of two SEC coaches on ESPN2’s live ‘Film Room’ during tonight’s national championship game pitting second-ranked Oregon against No. 4 Ohio State.
Mississippi State’s Dan Mullen and Vanderbilt’s Derek Mason are two of four national coaches participating in a featured Xs and Os segment and will join ESPN analysts Tom Luginbill and Chris Spielman at ESPN HQ in Bristol, Conn.
Mason, who went 0-8 in the SEC during his first season with the Commodores, named himself Vanderbilt’s defensive coordinator replacement last week after also replacing a new play-caller on the other side of the football. He’s very familiar with Marcus Mariota and the Ducks, having beaten Oregon twice during his time as Stanford’s defensive coordinator.
Mullen’s Bulldogs won 10 games this fall and made it to No. 1 before losing three of their final four games.
