Multiple former SEC stars included in updated NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year odds
It’s been a good 2020 season for last season’s SEC football stars.
Members of the LSU Tigers’ 2019 National Championship-winning team have been especially impressive, with former No. 1 overall pick and Heisman Trophy winner Joe Burrow breaking rookie records. Could one of these players win Rookie of the Year? Sportsbetting.com provided updated odds for the award.
Burrow of the Cincinnati Bengals has the best odds, at -125. He has already thrown for over 2,000 yards and 11 touchdowns with a makeshift offensive line in front of him, most recently knocking off the 5-1 Tennessee Titans at home in an upset.
Former Oregon quarterback Justin Herbert checks in at +125 after playing well since taking over for the injured Tyrod Taylor. Alabama legend Tua Tagovailoa and made his first career NFL start on Sunday, and helped the Miami Dolphins to a win over the Los Angeles Rams with a touchdown pass. Despite the limited sample size, Tagovailoa’s odds are at +1200.
A pair of former LSU stars rounds out the list as Minnesota Vikings wideout Justin Jefferson comes in at +1800, and Kansas City Chiefs running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire is at +2000.
Whoever wins the 2020 Rookie of the Year Award in the NFL, there is a good chance that it will be a former LSU player holding the trophy.
