Myles Brennan issues statement thanking LSU after deciding to transfer

After 5 years at LSU, Myles Brennan will finish his college career at another school. The quarterback has decided to enter the NCAA transfer portal, a move that Tigers head coach Ed Orgeron confirmed on Monday.

Brennan has been slowed by numerous injuries in recent years. He broke his left arm prior to the 2021 season, which led to Max Johnson securing LSU’s starting QB job.

Now, Brennan will be on the move. But before leaving the Tigers, he issued a statement on Twitter on Monday, thanking Orgeron and the program for the opportunity:

Brennan didn’t play for the Tigers in 2021, but he appeared in 18 games over the previous 4 seasons. He began 2020 as the starting quarterback, passing for 1,112 yards, 11 touchdowns and 3 interceptions in 3 games before suffering a torn abdominal muscle.

With so much experience — which included backing up Heisman Trophy winner Joe Burrow in 2019 — Brennan could go on to have success with another program. He’ll be looking to boost his NFL Draft stock in the process, so that he can head to the professional level in the future.

It’s unclear where Brennan may go next, but it will be interesting to see where he lands.
