Even as rookies, Myles Garrett and Leonard Fournette aren’t wasting any time making significant contributions to their NFL teams.
With a sack in his first NFL game, Garrett, a pass rusher for the Cleveland Browns and former Texas A&M star, became the first defensive player selected No. 1 overall to record a sack in his first game since Steve Emtman in 1992 with Indianapolis.
Fournette, the Jacksonville Jaguars running back and former LSU star, with a touchdown that sent him flying over the Pittsburgh defense, became just the fifth player since 1970 to begin his career with a touchdown in five straight games.
Garrett, who missed the first four games of the season with an ankle sprain, also added another sack late in the second quarter.
