The Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating Contest, an annual July 4 tradition, has been canceled.
The 2023 edition will not take place due to inclement weather, according to a report. That news was first shared by ABC News 7 in New York on Tuesday afternoon.
Per the report, the event was canceled by the NYPD.
The weather only impacted the men’s side of the competition. Earlier in the day, Miki Sudo ate 39.5 hot dogs to win the women’s hot dog eating contest.
