The top junior quarterback in the country will be headed to Columbus.
Quinn Ewers, an elite signal-caller from national power Southlake Carroll in Texas, committed to Ohio State on Thursday evening. Ewers made the announcement on his Twitter page.
This is not the first time Ewers has pledged to a program, though. After verballing to the Texas Longhorns in August, he re-opened his recruitment in October, stating that he “didn’t thoroughly explore all options” throughout the process and would take time to “reassess the situation”.
Despite several SEC programs offering him, though, he appears headed to Ohio State for now.
Along with his status as the No. 1 quarterback in the class of 2022, 247Sports ranks Ewers as the No. 2 player in the country, regardless of position. He joins a loaded Buckeyes recruiting class that features the nation’s top 2 outside linebackers in in-state products Gabe Powers (Marysville) and C.J. Hicks (Archbishop Alter in Dayton).
