Across the country, some conferences are canceling their 2020 football seasons. Some are moving the seasons to the spring. Some are moving to conference-only action and others are planning on playing a full slate of games.
As many rivalry games hang in the balance, don’t expect Army and Navy to cancel their rivalry matchup at the end of the season.
Navy AD Chet Gladchuk appeared on “The Paul Finebaum Show” on Tuesday and issued a strong statement, saying the “nation can be assured” that the game will go on:
"Even in WWII, we found a way to play the Army-Navy game…The nation can be assured that, at least, Army-Navy will prevail."

The game has been played every year since 1930 after a two-year hiatus in 1928 and 1929. That’s when the schools couldn’t agree on player eligibility standards.
From Gladchuk’s appearance on Tuesday, it sounds like that streak will extend through 2020, at least.
