Navy fired head football coach Ken Niumatalolo following the Midshipmen’s loss to Army in the classic Army-Navy game on Dec. 10. Niumatalolo had been the head coach in Annapolis for 15 seasons.
Brian Newberry is expected to take over as full time head coach, per Pete Thamel.

Newberry will be entering his fifth season at Navy in 2023, having served 4 years as the Midshipmen’s defensive coordinator. His defense led the way in their incredible 2019 season, where the Midshipmen finished No. 20 in the nation.
