NC State and North Carolina battled in Week 14 to end the regular season. There is no love lost between these in-state rivals and that much was proven after the conclusion of the game.

The Wolfpack escaped Chapel Hill with a 35-30 victory. After the game, a brawl broke out when several Wolfpack players attempted to plant their flag at midfield. Tar Heel players took exception to this and a whole slew of staffers from both teams were seen trying to get things under control.

It’s a bad look for both teams anytime there’s an all-out brawl like this. A similar scene took place in Columbus after Michigan upset Ohio State on Saturday.

As far as the game goes, it was a back-and-forth affair. The Tar Heels held a 21-13 lead after 3 quarters, but the Wolfpack added 22 points in the 4th quarter. The Tar Heels, meanwhile, only came up with 10 points in the final quarter and lost by 5.

Omarion Hampton had another huge game. The Tar Heel running back rushed for 185 yards and 1 touchdown and also caught 4 passes for 65 yards and 1 TD. Wolfpack QB CJ Bailey had a day, throwing for 242 yards and 2 TDs and then adding 54 yards on the ground.

This win makes it 4 in a row over the Tar Heels for the Wolfpack. The Tar Heels last won in the rivalry back in 2020.
