Amid an outbreak of COVID-19, the NCAA implemented a recruiting dead period that was expected to last until April 15.
Now, though, as the coronavirus continues to spread, states are going into lockdown and others are extending their lockdown periods.
The NCAA has made an adjustment, too. According to a tweet from the NCAA, the recruiting dead period has been extended to May 31:

Obviously, that’s a long time with no recruiting. It’ll likely hamper coaches’ ability to stay in contact with top recruits. Campus visits are also a big no-no right now.
It’s a strange time for everyone, not just college athletes. Let’s hope things are better by the end of May.
