There are cans and cannnots in the new and unpredictable world of NIL the college football landscape has found itself in. Contrary to popular belief, it is not simply a system to where coaches and major universities can buy players. Strictly speaking, that is.

To crack down on insubordination, the NCAA sent out a letter Thursday asking for members schools to aid in NIL violation investigations.

“To achieve success and protect fair competition from abuses, member cooperation and communication with the NCAA enforcement staff is imperative when self-regulating requirements fail,” said the letter.

Later, the letter read on:

“Our focus is not on targeting student-athletes, but rather the actors who pose a threat to the integrity of college sports.”

The letter, sent by Executive Vice President of Regulatory Affairs Steve Wilcox, also started that the NCAA is actively investigating “potential abuses of NIL transactions” and will soon allege those concerns.
